OOmami Mushroom is dedicated to cultivating the finest farm-raised, hand-trimmed, and sun-dried mushrooms. Grown in ideal conditions and harvested at the peak of flavor and potency, our mushrooms are dried to perfection under the abundant Colorado sun.

We are committed to promoting natural healthy living, ensuring food security, and practicing sustainable, responsible stewardship of our planet, while raising public awareness about the benefits of mushrooms and their role in a healthy lifestyle.

Our company is uniquely positioned as a U.S. business that specializes exclusively in cultivated, dehydrated mushrooms.

Today, Doran is devoted to OOmami Mushroom, his urban mushroom farm. At OOmami Mushroom, Doran cultivates a variety of gourmet mushrooms, focusing on sustainable and innovative farming practices. His passion for fungi drives his continuous experimentation with new recipes and preparation techniques in his test kitchen, always aiming to bring fresh, delectable mushroom dishes to the table.


Doran’s culinary journey began at age 7, cooking for his family.

A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in 1979, he honed his skills in NYC, working at a variety of restaurants including as the Banquet Chef at the Helmsley Palace Hotel.

Doran served as Executive Chef and head of R&D for The American Lamb Council in Denver.

He has been featured in "Cuisines Magazine." with recipes and articles.

In 1994, Doran partnered with "The Microsoft Network" and pioneered online shopping with "Gourmet Gift Net."

In 1997, he founded Active Web Solutions, specializing in e-commerce for culinary and garden clients.

In 2017, he launched a food truck with a Mexican-Indian fusion menu.
