Doran’s culinary journey began at age seven, cooking for his family.

A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in 1979, he honed his skills in NYC, working at a variety of restaurants including as the Banquet Chef at the Helmsley Palace Hotel.

Doran served as Executive Chef and head of R&D for The American Lamb Council.

He has been featured in "Cuisines Magazine." with recipes and articles.

In 1994, Doran partnered with "The Microsoft Network" and pioneered online shopping with "Gourmet Gift Net."

In 1997, he founded Active Web Solutions, specializing in e-commerce for culinary and garden clients.

In 2017, he launched a food truck with a Mexican-Indian fusion menu.
